Surrey-North Delta Division of Family Practice

Staff Transitions

This spring, a number of staff transitions are taking place at SND, and we’re taking this opportunity to say "goodbye” to some valued colleagues and “welcome” to some exciting new arrivals. We wish Jody, Meaghan, Melissa and Shanza well, and warmly welcome Tomas, Jennifer, Jaylene, Cathy, Kristin and Roni to the SND division team!

Goodbye:

Jody Friesen (Lead, Physician Engagement and Support) will be leaving this month for her year-long maternity leave. She is leaving big shoes to fill while she starts this exciting new venture, but we are thrilled for her, and look forward to her return.

Meaghan Ryley (LAT Coordinator, Surrey Integrated Youth, interim OAT Project Lead) is heading back to full time studies to finish up her bachelors degree at SFU. We wish her well with her studies and future pursuits.

Melissa Baron (Pathways Administrator) will not be returning from maternity leave. She will be missed, but we wish her and her family all the best!

Shanza Imran (OAT Project Lead) has been part of the OAT Force Physician team who have created a novel peer support program for physicians in our community providing care for patients on Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT). We wish her well in her future endeavors.

Welcome:

Tomas Reyes (PCN, PMH Project Support, Roots CHC Project Lead, Maternity Network Project Lead) joined us in the new year to support Roots CHC and Maternity Network development, and now Tomas is increasing his project support capacity to the division as he takes on Jody’s role providing Primary Care Network and Patient Medical Home project support. Jennifer Doan (Administrative Assistant) is providing behind the scenes support for events, division projects and meetings, and a very welcome addition to the team.

Jaylene Sharma (MOA Network Coordinator) is lending her expertise and experience as an Office Manager and long-term MOA Network Committee member to support and coordinate the MOA Network while Jody is on maternity leave. Contact Jaylene at jaylenesharma.sndfp@gmail.com

Cathy Lawson (Pathways Administrator) will be staying on permanently, and we couldn’t be happier. Contact Cathy at info.sndfp@pathwaysbc.ca

Kristin Warkentin (Communications Consultant) is working with us on this newsletter and other initiatives aimed at ensuring you get the information you need from us.

Roni Freeman (Physician Engagement and Support Coordinator) will be joining the Physician Engagement and Support Team at the end of May to support the neighbourhoods of Cloverdale, East Newton, Fleetwood and Panorama. If you work in one of these neighbourhoods, keep an eye out for Roni to be visiting your office in the coming months!
