Blue Pine Clinic Team Lead employment opportunity:

The Prince George Division of Family Practice Society (PGDoFP/the Division) is a local innovation in health care, and part of a province-wide initiative designed to strengthen primary health care in BC. The Division coordinates local processes related to the overarching goals of developing primary care capacity and attaching currently-unattached patients to Physicians.

The Prince George Division of Family Practice, in partnership with Northern Health, is seeking a dynamic Team Lead who will provide day-to-day leadership to the interdisciplinary clinical team at the Blue Pine Primary Health Care Clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of quality Primary Health Care through collaborative, value-based decision-making, in accordance with the Vision and Mission of the PG Division of FP and in cooperation with all care providers.

The successful candidate will implement a service delivery model that is patient-centered, with attention to high quality medical care, and at the same time balanced with the patient’s right to self-determine. This role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a dynamic, healthy Primary Health Care team, as well as ensuring continuous quality improvement strategies are employed throughout all clinic systems and processes.

The primary duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Contribute to leading strategic planning process, ensuring that health system-specific strategic goals are developed and/or incorporated into any planning processes
  • Oversee the design and implementation of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives
  • Oversee the management and coordination of Primary Health Care Services in order to achieve the operational objectives
  • Provide facility management and oversee the authorization of day-to-day clinic expenditures
  • Identify, in conjunction with the Executive Director and other staff, the human resource requirements needed to deliver Primary Health Care Services as indicated in the operating plan
  • Support human resources activities related to recruitment
  • Provide direct patient care related to the candidate’s professional experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • A Bachelor degree in a relevant health care field - nursing, social work, mental health clinician, physiotherapy, OT, dietitian, etc. - with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Previous experience in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of the unique health care needs of the clinic’s patient population
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Relationship- and team-building skills
  • Proficiency in relevant IT applications in particular the MOIS electronic medical record
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, changing environment
  • Excellent coping skills in a high-pressure, direct-service workplace

Compensation for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
