Change Day BC 2017

Change Day is part of a global effort that was started in 2013 by the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom.  Now, countries the world over have launched their own change days, to improve qualitatively the delivery of compassionate care.

Over a million people have made pledges!

What is involved?

It involves making a pledge publicly and then fulfilling this pledge, anytime between now and Change Day BC – November 17, 2017.

Who can make a pledge?

Anyone can make a pledge, whether you work or volunteer, whether you are a patient, resident, client, family member or someone working in the health, social and community care systems or elsewhere.

What is a pledge?

It is a commitment to help change and improve health, social and / or community care, where we live and work. What someone pledges and how they do it is entirely up to them.  It may be as simple as promising to ‘Exercise 3 times per week’ or ‘Asking patients how they are' or "Supporting colleagues by listening with mindfulness and curiosity".

Why make a pledge?

It's about being part of a global effort to drive change and quality improvement within our health system, and to help focus on possibilities rather than problems.

For more information or to make a pledge please visit the Change Day BC website.
