Maternity Care for Refugees Project

The Maternity Care for Refugees Project was created in 2018 to improve early care for refugee women who are pregnant. Two engagement sessions were held to determine gaps in care and identify strategies for addressing them. These uncovered a need for:

  • translation
  • attachment to a provider
  • receiving care early in pregnancy
  • education and greater collaboration

To begin addressing these needs, the group has developed maternity resources in English, Arabic and Punjabi. It has also worked with partners to raise awareness of existing programs.
