The Division aims to work collaboratively with key partners to identify challenges and potential opportunities for improving after-hours and urgent care on the North Shore. The Division continues to investigate solutions for the shortage in after-hours care and its downstream effects on the Urgent Primary Care Centre, walk-in clinics, and the Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) Emergency Department.

Through some of this work, the Patient Flow Shared Care project was developed and funded to investigate opportunities to enhance communication and patient referral processes between the Emergency Department at LGH and family physicians.
